Hello, I’m Etty (and that’s my cat Stevie).

I’m a professional trumpet player and instrumental teacher living in north west London. Drawing and painting have always been passions of mine and in a strange way the events of 2020 have given me the opportunity to turn my passion into real products that I hope people will enjoy as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them.

The plants and birds I painted for my Winter card designs were chosen because they are less well known than the usual winter/Christmas suspects of robins, holly, mistletoe and poinsettias (which I love as well!), and I hope to bring these alternatives to more people’s attention - especially the birds as both are on conservation concern lists in the UK. My own knowledge of birds is pretty limited so I’ve really enjoyed learning more about the two species I’ve studied so far, and my plant knowledge is slowly growing each year through my gardening efforts on a small London roof terrace.
